the crafted home: client review

A bit of context, our New Forest home was a 5 bedroom house with cramped living space and bedrooms only used for Christmas family get togethers. Kids had flown the nest so our design brief was to optimise the living & entertaining space without compromising the overall feel of the house.  With an open mind, we invited Charlotte and Alex from artie+co to suggest options to remodel a home that had little spent on it for 15 years.

After a number of design reviews we agreed an  ambitious plan to transform the tired layout both internally and externally including new entrance hall, stairs and front door to create a visually stunning entrance worthy of this large country house.

To ensure the space "flows" and create a light filled environment, we've removed 3 walls, installed 6 steel beams, 8 new windows and 6m bi-fold doors complemented by underfloor heating, new kitchen, bespoke kitchen island and state of the art AV system.

Alex has delivered outstanding technical designs which have been invaluable in the construction process giving the builders all the detail they have needed for the project.

Charlotte has overseen the entire design process from first concepts down to the last tile and light fitting selection.

artie+co have been a delight to work with, bringing insight, thoughtful and crafted designs which has transformed a traditional New Forest house into a bright, open and inviting home.
