our story

artie+co was founded by husband and wife team, Alex and Charlotte, who share over 15 years of experience in high-end residential design. Together, we bring two complementary strengths: Charlotte is the creative one — shaping ideas, materials and bespoke details — while Alex is the technical one, turning concepts into reality with precision, technical drawings and construction knowledge.

We work side by side through every stage of a project, from concept design to on-site delivery, balancing imaginative, design-led thinking with practical, buildable solutions.

The name artie+co, inspired by our son, reflects the values at the heart of our practice: home and heritage. Every project is approached with the same care and integrity we would bring to our own home — creating crafted, bespoke residences designed to be lived in, loved and passed on.

our ethos

For us, good design is not only seen but felt — in the flow of a room, the touch of a surface, and the quiet ease of living well within it.

Crafted.jpg

crafted living

We design homes that feel personal, welcoming and full of life. It’s not about perfect finishes — it’s about thoughtful touches that bring comfort, character, and meaning to everyday spaces.

Considered.jpg

considered design

We take time to understand how you live — how light moves, how rooms connect, and how you want to feel at home. Every decision is intentional, balancing design ambitions with budget to create a home that feels special without overspending.

Cohesive.jpg

cohesive vision

We offer a complete design service — architecture and interiors working together — to create a home that flows naturally, inside and out. One story, told clearly from start to finish.

our team

At artie+co, our collaborative approach ensures each project is carefully designed, well-executed, and crafted to last.

"the creative one"

the "technical" one

Charlotte studied at the University of Kent and the University of Westminster, where she was nominated for the RIBA President’s Medal Silver award. After seven years working in London’s high-end residential sector, she returned to the South Coast to build a new life in the forest.

Known for her creative vision and attention to detail, Charlotte focuses on enhancing layouts, maximising natural light and transforming dated homes into spaces that are both beautiful and practical. She works across all stages of a project, from concept design to bespoke joinery and interiors.

When she’s not designing, Charlotte can be found exploring forest trails or skiing down snowy slopes.

A graduate of the University of Kent and the University of Westminster — and winner of the RIBA South East Student Award — he began his career working in the Home Counties before moving to the South Coast (with a little encouragement from Charlotte).

Alex excels at bridging the gap between vision and execution, taking projects through technical design to completion. He thrives on complex challenges, crafting thoughtful, cost-effective details and coordinating every stage to ensure projects are delivered beautifully and efficiently.

Outside the studio, Alex enjoys cycling and chasing Charlotte down the slopes, always looking for adventure and a bit of friendly competition.
